CenturyLink's growing footprint

Monroe's only Fortune 500 Company broke ground earlier this week for its latest expansion.

CenturyLink Inc. officials said the Technology Center of Excellence will be home to about 800 employees when it opens early in 2015.

CenturyLink CEO and President Glen Post III said the new building marks a major enhancement of the company's main campus.

"Our current headquarters has about 365,000 square feet," Post noted. "The new Technology Center will contain about 250,000 square feet of space. It will be located on the north side of our building here."
