Deputies with the Ouachita Parish sheriff's warrants division arrested former city of Monroe survey party chief Ricardo Nance.
Nance 37, of 710 Texas Ave., Monroe, was arrested Monday afternoon when deputies learned he was at E.A. Conway Hospital. He was arrested at the hospital and taken to Ouachita Correctional Center. His bond was set at $10,000.
A warrant had been issued for Nance's arrest after a Ouachita Parish grand jury indicted him Feb. 21 for public payroll fraud. He was indicted along with his former boss, Monroe city engineer Sinyale Morrison, 37. Morrison resigned her city job in November to pursue other interests, said Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo.
Morrison surrendered to authorities Feb. 22, the same day a Ouachita Parish grand jury reported its finding to Fourth Judicial District Court Judge Scott Leehy.
Morrison was released on her own recognizance that same day, but Nance was not to be found. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
