New Ouachita River bridge proposed

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, along with the Federal Highway Administration, is proposing construction of a new highway north of the West Monroe and Monroe corporate limits.

This highway would connect Louisiana Highway 143 (LA 143) in the west with US. 165 to the east.

The construction would include a new Ouachita River bridge crossing near Bayou Chauvin.

The DOTD will hold an open house public meeting on Tuesday, March 12, from 5-7 p.m. in the Ouachita Room at the Monroe Civic Center.
