Ouachita Parish Schools develop new pay plan

The Ouachita Parish School Board will get its first look at a proposed new salary schedule at its regular meeting Thursday.

"The salary schedule really is no more. It's a compensation plan," said school system business manager Juanita Duke.

"Every teacher's salary is going to be differentiated from this point forward because it's going to be based on that teacher's performance," Duke explained.

"There's going to be a compensation plan where teachers will know what they can earn every year, and what they can earn up to a certain cap."
