No. 1 Ouachita Lions head to semi-finals

The No. 1 Ouachita Parish Lions claimed their ticket to the Class 5A basketball semi-finals in the LHSAA playoffs after crushing the No. 8 East. St. John Wildcats, 64-48.

The Lions will play No. 4 East Ascension in semi-finals. Top-seeded Ouachita has dominated the court throughout the playoffs, defeating No. 31 Chalmette 71-49 during the first round. Ouachita then bounced Natchitoches Central from the playoffs with a 60-55 win during the second round.

Against the Wildcats, the Lions (30-4) maintained a lead throughout the game, but had difficulty putting the game away thanks to a strong defense by East St. John (22-8).
