Judith Norris Baker
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Asbury United Methodist Church in Lafayette, for Judith Norris Baker, who passed away at Lafayette General Medical Center on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, following a brief illness. The Rev. Richard Humphries conducted the service.
Mrs. Baker was born in Ruston, on July 10, 1940, the daughter of Modell and Fern Norris. She attended the University of Mississippi, where she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. Judy loved life, her family, and entertaining and traveling with her many friends. She was a member of the Junior League of Lafayette, L'Avenir Women's Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Judy is survived by her husband, Dr. Larry Eugene Baker; her beloved daughter Allyson and her husband, Tripp Bradshaw, and granddaughter Lillie of Rome, Ga.; her brother, James Modell Norris Jr. and his wife, Sandy, of Bossier; her stepdaughter, Elizabeth Baker Murrill, and her husband, John, of Baton Rouge; and two stepsons, Larry Jr. of Dallas and David Baker of Lafayette. She is also survived by grandchildren Parham, Baker, Paul, and James Henry Murrill, and Cameron, Madeline, and Larry Baker; niece, Lisa Norris Willis; and nephew, James Norris III. She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Stanley McEacharn.
Visitation was observed in Martin & Castille's Downtown Lafayette location on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. and continued on Thursday at Asbury United Methodist Church, 101 Live Oak Drive, Lafayette, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Funeral services for Jennifer Varner Caples, 35, of Calhoun, were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Burial was at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens.

William Lee Carbrey
William Lee Carbrey, 89, of Georgetown, Texas, and formerly of Monroe, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Monroe. Local arrangements are by Mulhearn Funeral Home of Monroe.

Vollie Sanford Jr.
Delta, Colo. resident, Vollie Sanford Jr., 84, passed away on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 in Delta, Colo.
A private inurnment honoring Vollie's life will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado in Grand Junction, Colo. A memorial service will be held on June 9, 2013; details will be published closer to the date.

Graveside services for Leah Joy Thompson, the infant daughter of Garrett and Rebekah Thompson of West Monroe, were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2012, at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
