An accidental recording of a racially charged conversation between Monroe City School Board member Vickie Krutzer and a male named "Bill" resulted in Krutzer's removal as chairman of the School Board's finance committee.
School Board President Verbon Muhammad unilaterally stripped Krutzer of the chairmanship at a School Board meeting Tuesday night. The move was one of several actions taken in response to the phone recording, which was accidentally left on the voicemail of a school system employee.
The incident also led to calls for censure proceedings, as well as for Krutzer's resignation from the District 2 School Board seat that she has held for several years.
