Christmas festivities kick off

The holiday season is upon us, and once again "Christmas on the River" delivers a myriad of family friendly events to Ouachita Parish.

Holiday events kickoff this weekend with more than a month of festivities.

Sheila Snow, communications director for the Monroe-West Monroe Convention and Visitors Bureau, said a new feature this year is the Freedom Tree at the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum, and it's already alight.
