Five years ago, Catfish Jack Clampit came up with an idea to raise funds to provide Christmas presents for needy children in the Bawcomville community.
"Santa and I share personalities and bodies every year as 'Santa' listens to the children coming into the store," said Clampit, whose S&J Farm and Feed store sits at one of the busiest intersections in Bawcomville. "I kept hearing that these kids would tell Santa that they asked for presents last year and Santa never made it to their house."
So Clampit took action. With some of his coworkers' assistance, he organized the first Bawcomville Redneck Christmas Parade as a way to raise money to buy presents for the kids.
