Neville faces familiar 4A foe by Matt Reynolds - posted Thursday, November 15th, 2012 @ 6:00 pm The Tigers will travel to Cajun country Friday to tangle with a familiar 4A foe in No. 17 Breaux Bridge, which Neville beat on the road last season, 16-7, punching its ticket to the Superdome. The schools also met in the 2003, 2005 and 2008 playoffs.
Kavontae Turpin ended St. Louis Catholic's chances of a knocking off the top dog early last Friday, as the sophomore playmaker posted three first-half touchdowns en route to a 40-10 Neville victory at Bill Rumple Stadium. The top-seeded Tigers showed no sign of rust in the first-round of the Class 4A playoffs after having a bye in the last week of the regular season and now move one step closer to repeating as Class 4A champions.
Neville's second-round opponent clobbered Plaquemine on the road last week, 31-3. Coach Paul Broussard's Breaux Bridge squad was so overwhelming defensively that Plaquemine (6-5) finished with minus 40 yards rushing and only seven through the air for a negative 33 total yards.
