Counselor's Corner: Children and divorce Why is it that some children of divorced parents seem to sail through life with no ill effects, while others struggle with every aspect of their lives? There are lots of theories on this subject, and society is quick to blame problems on the "broken home." In my years of working with children in schools, it is apparent that each child's level of resilience plays a big part in whether a divorce will have a lasting negative effect on his or her life. |
