Board honors Shows with field name

It's always been Rebel Stadium, but now the West Monroe High School football field will have a name, too.

The Ouachita Parish School Board voted unanimously at its regular meeting last week to name the field for longtime head coach Don Shows.

Superintendent Bob Webber said it's an honor that is well deserved.

"Don Shows has brought so much recognition to our school system, to our community, to the City of West Monroe, and certainly to West Monroe High School, " said Webber. "If anybody ever deserved to have a field named for him, Don Shows is that person."
