No. 1 Rebels begin 5A playoffs

The West Monroe Rebels collide with the Denham Springs Yellow Jackets for the first round of Class 5A playoffs at Rebel Stadium on Friday night.

The Rebels enter the bi-district playoff round ranked No. 3 in the power ratings after throttling the Natchitoches Central Chiefs (6-4, 1-3) last week, 48-14.

The Rebels (8-2) finished District 2-5A with a 4-0 standing, making it the 18th time the Rebels have secured a district title and their tenth title in a row.
