Don't try to go it alone

Back when I was much younger and so wise I could see into the future, a friend and I would ponder what the future might have in store for us.

We determined that over the course of our working lives we would amass such a fortune and that we would neither want nor need insurance to provide security for our families in the event of our premature demise.

WRONG! I also was of the age that adopted the financial philosophy that when your mortgage is paid down always refinance and use the equity to make more money. Great theory but often poor practice. There is an old saying "we live and learn" or better yet "smart late is better than never". Let me share with you some generational wisdom that I recently came across.
