Gosh, it is Sunday, Oct. 7, and the thermostat in our home reads 60 degrees! It has not been this cool since April. The chill in the air is refreshing and we are blessed to have fall and the Halloween season here.

More fun than anything was watching the ULM Warhawks really whip Middle Tennessee, which was supposed to be a tough game for the Warhawks. Amazing what W's in the win-lose column do to get the home crowd excited. By the way, ULM and LSU play football in 2014! Some say it is a good thing they are not playing this year. And La. Tech, congratulations to you for the 5-0 start and the level of ball the Bulldogs are playing, which are ranked 23rd in the nation for the first time since 1999! If we want a sell-out crowd, a ULM-Tech game this year would produce some significant revenue and fun for all.

The Lord surely wants us to follow his lead. Though we don't know what lies ahead, to receive HIS blessings, we must walk by faith, not by sight. This means placing the priorities of this world second to the unseen Shepherd of our souls. Let's strive to let HIS light continue to shine as we walk among family and friends so that they can see HIS work within us! Adapted from Jesus Calling.
