FOBB hosts celebration posted Thursday, October 11th, 2012 @ 12:00 pm The October weather is fine and fair, just right for outdoor activities, and the Friends of Black Bayou have a full slate planned for their annual Fall Celebration at Northeast Louisiana's own Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge this Saturday, Oct. 13.
FOBB vice president Ann Smith said everyone is invited to the free celebration, which runs from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. A bird walk gets a jump-start on the day at 8 a.m.
"The public is invited to go out with some birding experts, and that needs to be done early in the morning," Smith said.
One of the most popular events this year will be the 11 a.m. release of baby alligator snapping turtles, something Smith described as her favorite part of the day. .....
