Superintendent search committee seeks input

Monroe City Schools will select a new superintendent no later than April 9 of next year, if the School Board agrees to recommendations developed by a search committee.
The superintendent search committee met for the first time Tuesday.
The School Board will seek community input at virtually every stage of the superintendent search, according to School Board member Rodney McFarland, who chairs the School Board's search committee. McFarland anticipates a rapid process of community input, candidate selection and interviewing.
One significant difference between this and previous searches is the School Board will not hire an outside firm to conduct the search for a new superintendent.
