Audit confirms deputy's dismissal

The Louisiana Legislative Auditor has concurred with findings of wrongdoing by a former Ouachita Parish Sheriff's deputy who was arrested and fired for felony theft.

Auditors were called in earlier this year following a 2011 investigation that revealed former OPSO Dpy. Lakeisha Ford-Norris had misappropriated money and altered records to cover her tracks.

Following an internal investigation, Ford was arrested and charged with 13 counts of felony theft, malfeasance and filing false public records. Her employment at OPSO was terminated as well.
