Martha Jane Anderson: May 10, 2012 by Martha Jane Anderson - posted Thursday, May 10th, 2012 @ 12:00 pm May is starting off with winning ways that are so special when we know the winners. Academic awards and scholarships abound with many young people that we all know. Good word from Louise Altick, who is doing amazingly well with her cancer fight. We are so inspired by her positive spirit.
We are so proud of our Neville Tennis Girls! After winning the singles and doubles regional round at ULM, the Neville Tennis Girls took home the LHSAA Division II State Tournament Girls Tennis Team Championship, which is the first Girls' Tennis State Championship for Neville since 1993.
Frances Altick (Lou and Jim's granddaughter) took home the individual singles title, while the doubles team of Layne Fincher and Katie Trettin finished the doubles tournament in second place individually. Reaching the quarterfinals and insuring a victory for their team were doubles partners Kiley Fincher and Madison Brennan, and Caroline Coon and Amela Ifediora. .....
Martha Jane Anderson retired from University of Louisiana-Monroe after 35 years of service as Assistant Dean of Students and SGA Advisor. She is married to Patrick H. Anderson Sr., has two children, and four grandchildren.
