SEPARATE SEALED BIDS for Flowmeter Installation, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, will be received by West Ouachita Sewerage District No. 5 at 327 Wallace Road, West Monroe, LA, 71291 until ten (10:00) o'clock A.M. on May 1, 2012. Sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately after the closing time for the receipt of bids. Any bids received after closing time will be returned to the bidder unopened.
The Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents may be examined and procured at the office of the Engineer, Lazenby & Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineers & Land Surveyors, 2000 North Seventh Street, West Monroe, Louisiana, 71291, 318-387-2710. A non-refundable deposit of Fifty and No/100 Dollars ($50.00) will be required for each set of documents.
A pre-bid conference will be not held for the project.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a cashier's check, certified check or acceptable Bid Bond payable to the West Ouachita Sewerage District No. 5 in the amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid amount as a guarantee that, if awarded the Contract, the Bidder will promptly enter into a contract and execute such bonds as may be required.
The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond for the full amount of the Contract in accordance with Article 5 of the General Conditions. WATER DISCHARGE PERMIT
The LDEQ, Office of Environmental Services, is accepting written comments on a Louisiana Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (LPDES) permit prepared for Greater Ouachita Water Company, N.E. Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility, P.O. Box 35888, West Monroe, Louisiana 71294. The facility is located at 1233 McGowen Road in Monroe, Ouachita Parish. Upon the effective date of the final permit, the LPDES permit shall replace the previously issued LPDES permit, LA0110485.
The principal discharge from this source made into Caney Creek, thence into Patrick Bayou, thence into Little Bayou Boeuf, thence into Bayou Lafourche, waters of the state classified for primary contact recreation, secondary contact recreation, and propagation of fish and wildlife. Under the SIC 4952, the applicant proposes to discharge treated sanitary wastewater from a privately owned treatment works serving various residential subdivision in northeast Ouachita Parish.
During the preparation of this permit, it has been determined that the discharge will have no adverse impact on the existing uses of the receiving waterbody. As with any discharge, however, some change in existing water quality may occur.
Comments and requests for a public hearing or notification of the final decision can be submitted via personal delivery, U.S. mail, email, or fax. Comments and requests for public hearings must be received by 4:30 pm CST, THURSDAY, MAY 10, 2012. Delivery may be made to the drop-box at 602 N. 5th St., Baton Rouge, LA 70802. TOWN OF STERLINGTON
THE TOWN OF STERLINGTON WILL DISCUSS AND POSSIBLY ADOPT THE PROPOSED ORDINANCES:
1. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 59 BY ALLOWING A GOVERNMENT ENTITY TO TAP INTO THE TOWN OF STERLINGTON'S SEWER SYSTEM.
2. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2011-15 BY CHANGING THE SPEED LIMIT FROM 25 MPH TO 35 MPH ON OLD STERLINGTON ROAD BETWEEN CHURCH STREET AND OUACHITA CITY ROAD.
Discussion will take place at the regularly scheduled meeting, Tuesday, April 10, 2012, 6:30 p.m.,at the Sterlington Town Hall, 503 Highway 2, Sterlington, LA 71280. The proposed ordinances may be viewed at the Town Hall during regular business hours before meeting day.
