A copy of the application and the Ouachita Parish Police Jury’s adopted Citizen Participation Plan will be available for review beginning November 17, 2011, at the Police Jury Office in Monroe, Louisiana by appointment Monday through Friday.
An interpreter will be made available to accommodate the needs of the non-English speaking persons and accommodations will made for the handicapped, provided the Ouachita Parish Police Jury is notified of the type assistance required and given at least three (3) days notice of their intention to appear.

It was moved by Sue Nicholson and seconded by Nash Patel to dedicate the Ouachita Citizen as the Convention & Visitors Bureau’s official legal publication journal for June 2011 through May 2012. Motion carried by a vote of ten (10) affirmative votes to zero (0) negative votes.
Executive Director’s Report: Alana Cooper discussed the Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between the Convention & Visitors Bureau and the City of Monroe Riverfront Marketplace Park Development in Downtown Monroe. She stated that the board voted to approve $140,000.00 for the project but the Cooperative Endeavor Agreement stated that the Convention & Visitors Bureau will contribute the amount of $132,385.00. She stated that the project needs the total amount of the $140,000.00 to complete the restroom as stated in our original requirements. She requested board approval to release the additional amount needed for the project in the amount of $7,615.00 which will be the balance of the $140,000.00.
It was moved by Sue Edmondson and seconded by Lane Howell to abide by the original motion to dedicate $140,000.00 to the Riverfront Marketplace Park Development in downtown Monroe and to release the additional $7,615.00 for the restrooms. Motion carried by a vote of ten (10) affirmative votes to zero (0) negative votes.

He stated that the audit was a standard unmodified audit report. The audit shows the Convention & Visitors Bureau with a designated fund balance of $750,779.00 and an unreserved fund balance of $4,175,662.00.

• Change insurance coverage from employee and dependent to Family Coverage to include her spouse.

Application Period Open for the Educational Advancement Opportunity (EAO) Scholarship Baton Rouge, Louisiana –
The Louisiana Legislative Women’s Caucus Foundation announced the opening of the application period for the Educational Advancement Opportunity (EAO) Scholarship. This scholarship is the brainchild of the women of the Louisiana Legislature, who are determined to broaden the educational opportunities available to young women in Louisiana. Each scholarship award is for $500 and will be used to defray the costs of tuition, room and board and/or books.
Scholarships can be applied to a licensed proprietary school, theological or seminary school, two-year technical or community college, four-year college or university or a graduate or professional school. Application forms and additional criteria for the EAO Scholarship can be found at llwc.louisiana.gov.
