A RESOLUTION ORDERING AND CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE PARISH OF OUACHITA, STATE OF LOUISIANA FOR THE POSITION OF JUROR, DISTRICT D, OUACHITA PARISH; AND FURTHER PROVIDING FOR OTHER MATTERS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH.
WHEREAS, a vacancy exists in the position of Juror, District D, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, under the provisions of LSA-R.S. 18:602 E, the Ouachita Parish Police Jury has the obligation to call an election to select a successor.
NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Ouachita Parish Police Jury in legal and regular session acting as the governing authority of the Parish of Ouachita, State of Louisiana that:

Commissioner Hall Called the Meeting Promptly To Order at 11:00 A.M.
A Motion by Commissioner Leach was mad to authorized Mr. Lazenby to advertise for bids on the Downing Pines/Hwy 80 extension. Commissioner Owens seconded the motion and was passed by a unanimous voice vote.
The next item on the agenda was the financial statements- for the seven months ended March 31, 2009. Mr. Huffman answered several questions concerning some of the figures. All present agreed the district is in sound financial condition.
The final item was cash disbursements. Mr. Cox presented the cash disbursements for the month and a brief discussion followed. Commissioner Leach made a motion to accept them as reasonable and necessary and Commissioner Owens seconded the motion. The motion passed by an unanimous voice vote.
No further business being presented the meeting adjourned at 11:55 A.M.

Mayor Pro Tem Ron Hill called the meeting to order. A quorum was present and acting. Aldermen present: Caesar Velasquez, Cliff Bullock, Ladd Williams, and Bonnie Dilmore. Mayor Breland was absent.

Brother Tracey Boyd gave the invocation and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.

EDA APPLICATION
Tom Holtzclaw explains this is not a completed grant, it is a work in progress with North Delta Regional Planning. Page 9 shows the cost breakdown and Mr. Holtzclaw explained where this project will take place. The cost is on the high end at 4.125 million right now. He will be work ing with David Creed for the next few weeks and things will change. They have indicated there’s enough funding for about half of this and right now we don’t know if this will be matching funds or what.
Ladd Williams asked Tom Holtzclaw to inform everyone of all the projects the town has going on right now, since there is a large crowd here tonight. Mr. Holtzclaw informed every one of all the projects the town has going on.
COMMUNITY AFFAIRS
Ladd Williams explained how the Delta Project got started and what it does. He also talked about several ribbon cuttings for businesses happening today, last week and next week.

Chief Bonner state he mailed letters to both owners and they will have 30 days to respond and get with him. When they come to see him, he will give them a summoned to court.

Mayor Pro Tem Ron Hill called the meeting to order. A quorum was present and acting. Aldermen present: Caesar Velasquez, Cliff Bullock, and Ladd Williams. Mayor Breland and Alderwoman Bonnie Dilmore were absent.

TERMINATION OF VINCE HODNETT’S EMPLOYMENT STATUS
Cliff Bullock stated taking the fact that the Chief is not here and he has made the statement in the past, he does not make the recommendation to terminate Vince Hodnett, I (Cliff Bullock) make the motion of immediate termination of Officer Vince Hodnett’s employment from Sterlington. Caesar Velasquez seconded the motion. The motion carried after Steve Jefferson’s comments in the next paragraph.
Steve Jefferson, Vince Hodnett’s representation, asked the Board to consider tabling discussion until the Chief, the Mayor and all the Aldermen could be present. He stated the vote could go either way if everyone was present. He commented that they were making a decision on Mr. Hodnett’s livelihood and if they do that, we’re going to fight about it.
