Public Notices Published Thursday, March 29th, 2007NOTICE COMPETITIVE CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION FOR OUACHITA PARISH FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT NO. 1 A written examination will be given in approximately ninety (90) days on a competitive basis to approve applicants for the purpose of placing names on the competitive employment list for the class of Fire Records Clerk in accordance with provisions of the Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Law and the rules of the Ouachita Parish Fire Protection District No. 1 Civil Service Board. Application forms may be picked up during regular business hours from the Fire Chief’s Office, Ouachita Parish Fire Department, 1000 New Natchitoches Rd, West Monroe, La. 71292. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Unless otherwise specified, all requirements must be met by the filing deadline for application for admission to the examination. Must meet all requirements of the Municipal Fire & Police Civil Service Law, including being a citizen of the United States and passing a civil service examination for the position. After offer of employment, but before beginning work in this class, must pass a physical examination, the selection and administration of which shall be authorized by the Appointing Authority, designed to demonstrate good health and physical fitness sufficient to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without accommodations. Must have a high school diploma or a valid certificate of equivalency issued by a State Department of Education. Sherry White, Recording Secretary 3/15,3/22,3/29 _______________________________________________________________ REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS (RFQ) For PROFESSIONAL SERVICES ASSOCIATED WITH OUACHITA PARISH HAZARD MITIGATION PLANNING PILOT GRANT PROGRAM The Ouachita Parish Police Jury is requesting qualification statements from interested firms or individuals to perform a Hazard Mitigation Project Scoping & Plan Amendment under the Louisiana Planning Pilot Grant Program administered and funded through the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP), and, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Subject to the award of the Planning Pilot Grant, the Police Jury intends to select, and contract with, a qualified firm or individual to provide professional services necessary to complete the scope of work identified in a final application for Project No. 1607-073-0001 to be approved by GOHSEP and FEMA. A copy of the application is available for review at the Police Jury Administrative Offices in the Parish Courthouse, 2nd Floor. Hazard mitigation planning to be performed under this project shall be consistent with the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 (DMA 2000), and, project scoping shall be consistent with Federal Hazard Mitigation Grant Program requirements. The successful firm or individual shall comply with all subgrantee (Police Jury) terms and conditions set forth in a Cooperative Agreement to be executed with GOHSEP and FEMA. Each respondent to this RFQ must submit a written qualification statement for this project which includes the following minimum information: 1. Brief company history including size of the staff. 2. List of projects completed or in progress during the past five (5) years which are comparable in scope and character to the proposed project. 3. Identify key management and staff personnel who would provide services for this project along with a brief resume for each person. 4. Identify any outside consultants which would be used on this project, and, indicate particular area of expertise in which they would be used. 5. Any additional information which may show the company to be uniquely qualified or suited for this project. If a satisfactory contract can not be negotiated with the selected firm, the Police Jury will formally end negotiations and select another firm. A contract will be awarded to the firm that satisfies specified requirements, and in the opinion of the Police Jury, is considered the best qualified firm. The agreement will be on a lump sum, fixed price basis (or cost reimbursement "not to exceed" basis), with payment terms to be negotiated with the selected firm. Cost estimating and cost benefit analyses in compliance with HMGP methods. 4. Preparation of forms and documentation per HMGP requirements. 5. Amend the West Monroe Mulit-Hazard Mitigation Plan as required.
