Bond one of Downey's best hires Editor:
My dad, the late Bill Downey, was Ouachita Parish Clerk of Court from 1969-1988. One of the best decisions her made during his tenure was the hiring of a lady named Louise Bond.
I worked for my dad and now retired Clerk of Court, Bill Hodge, as a deputy clerk for over 34 years prior to my retirement four years ago. I was fortunate enough to work 22 of those years alongside Louise Bond.
I have studied all the candidates in the race for Clerk of Court and it is my opinion that Louise Bond is the only candidate who is prepared by reason of training and experience to lead this office as Clerk of Court. She is presently serving as Clerk of Court, applying those skills she learned from my dad and Bill Hodge while incorporating her own style of leadership. The office has not missed a beat and her staff of 48 deputies has continued to provide professional, friendly and courteous service to our court, law enforcement, the district attorney, lawyers and the general public.
I can say without reservation that our Clerk of Court's office is one of the finest in our state. It reached that point as a result of many dedicated public servants such as Louise Bond. Please help us "Keep Louise Bond, Clerk of Court" by electing her on October 22, 2011.
