Sunday is St. Patrick's Day

This coming Sunday is Saint Patrick's Day. Actually we do not know if Patrick was a Saint…as the Bible uses the word. But we do know who really is a saint — anyone and everyone who has obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ, as described in God's word in Roman 6:1-18.

First, however, let's have a closer look at Saint Patrick. Was he a saint? Well, that depends on who we ask.

If we ask Catholics, then they say, "Yes, he is to us. " If you aks Protestants they say "not to us." Well, what is a saint anyway? Let's go to the Layman's Bible Encyclopedia, where we find: "Saint" — In the Bible this term is usually applied to the company of God's people, rather than to any single individual.
