Ouachita falls to Scotlandville in state title game

The No. 1 Ouachita Parish Lions couldn't overcome the No. 2 Scotlandville, falling 80-71 in a full house at ULM's Fant-Ewing Coliseum in the Class 5A state basketball championship.

Scotlandville won the 5A state title in 2011, too.

Ouachita tied the game with Scotlandville, 68-68, with a three-pointer by Ouachita's Chris Sumbler in the last minute of the fourth quarter, prompting an overtime period where the Hornets outscored the Lions 12-3.
