The Rebels plated a single run in each of the first two innings before pushing three runs across in the top of the fourth inning to stake a 5-0 lead. Preston Overbey highlighted the Ole Miss fourth with a two-RBI double down the left field line. ULM scored its first run of the contest in the home half of the fifth inning.
