When time moved slower

As I glanced down at the time on my computer, it was 12:23 a.m. I had someone make a comment to me several months ago about having received an e-mail from me that showed the time to be 2:30 a.m. He asked me if I ever slept.

Since all of our children have left the nest, our time schedule around the Payne household has changed drastically. Donna and I both stay up very late, or should I say early? We go to bed somewhere between 1 and 3 a.m. Sometimes I will go to bed around midnight, but I will get back up again between 2 a.m. and 4 am. To say we have adopted some strange hours around our household would be an understatement.

When I was thinking about all the time changes around our house, I recalled how it was when I was a kid. We did not have a TV set, but we did have a radio. The programs that we listened to as a family came on around 6 p.m. and went off around 8 p.m. We did not listen to the radio that much, but it did occupy some of our time as a family. I can remember lying down on the couch with my daddy and we listened to "The Shadow Knows."
