Organizers plan bike/trike parade, shamrock shuffle at Forsythe Park

The first St. Patty's Day Bicycle and Tricycle Parade will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at Forsythe Park in Monroe.

This is a family fun, community event sponsored by the Love Your Community initiative and FitRight Racing's Shamrock Shuffle, a 5K/8K race.

Parade participants are encouraged to decorate their bikes, trikes, wagons and scooters for a ride along Sycamore Street through Forsythe Park.

Parade line-up is at 4 p.m. It will begin at 4:15 p.m. and will be followed by the FitRight Racing Shamrock Shuffle 5K/8K road race at 5 p.m. The event will include free activities such as face painting, temporary tattoos and green lemonade. The first 50 children to register for the parade will receive a free T-shirt.
