LSU starting pitcher Ryan Eades recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts, propelling fourth-ranked LSU (9-1) to a 7-1 victory over Brown (0-2).

Eades (2-0) allowed no earned runs on five hits in six innings of work, throwing 79 pitches. His performance marked the second straight game an LSU starting pitcher recorded 11 strikeouts in a game (Aaron Nola struck out 11 against Brown Friday night).

Brown starting pitcher Heath Mayo (0-1) suffered the loss after giving up five earned runs on 11 hits and four walks in 5.2 innings.
