NELA's United Way raises $3 million posted Thursday, February 28th, 2013 @ 12:00 pm  E-mail Story |  Print Story  United Way of Northeast Louisiana hosted its "Celebrating Excellence" awards reception on Monday to honor the outstanding employee campaigns and individuals for their efforts and commitment to helping people and improving the community. The 2012 campaign was most successful, organizers said, with the community coming together to raise a total of $3,642,000 —a three percent increase from last year. Wade Bishop, 2012 campaign chairman, attributed the success to increased employee giving in the workplace and increased giving through United Way's leadership societies.
