Trey Altick Prep Classic in swing today

Area residents will likely hear the ping of aluminum bats this weekend as nearly 50 teams will descend on NELA baseball diamonds starting today for the three-day Trey Altick Louisiana Prep Classic.

Nearly every ballpark in the area will see tournament action as 11 local schools host all contests, including the diamond fields at West Monroe High School, OCS, Sterlington and more.

The tournament is sponsored by Dr. Collins and Catherine Coon as well as Jay and Helena Altick of Altick Dermatology.

Tickets cost $6 today (Thursday) and tickets cost $8 on Friday and Saturday.
Hand stamps will be used at each site. Prices are good for each day at any park.
