Of the three District 2-3A teams that made it to the quarterfinals of the LHSAA Class 3A boys' playoffs, Richwood was considered the favorite of the bunch to make a run to the finals.

After all, the No. 2 Rams are the reigning kings of 3A, and had won seven straight games heading into Tuesday night's third round matchup with No. 23 Parkview Baptist - a school known more for its success on the gridiron and diamond than its hardwood achievements.

Despite another 30-point outing from Reginal "Monsta" Johnson, the Rams (23-8) were outplayed in the final minutes in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, losing to the Eagles, 66-61. The loss eliminates the 2-3A district champs who were attempting to make a run for a sixth state championship.
