Two arrested on multiple charges following pursuit

A West Monroe Police Officer initiated a traffic stop after observing a white vehicle failing to use a traffic signal and for having a broken license plate light on Friday, Feb. 15.

John Kirk Robertson, 38, of Mena, Ark., was the driver of the vehicle.

According to the officer, the vehicle refused to stop, ensuing a pursuit that led into the city of Monroe.

During the pursuit, the vehicle traveled the wrong way on one-way streets, traveled against the flow of traffic, failed to obey several stop signs and traffic control devices and exceeded the speed limit by 25 miles an hour, the officer reported.
