Lighting the fires of desire
 When I taught English, I would have a new quote written on the board daily for the students to read. I prayed that the quote may be the flint that lit the fires of desire. A man once told Zig Ziglar that motivation does not last. To which Ziglar replied, "And neither does bathing. For motivation to be successful it must be a daily occurrence."
It has been stated that we attend school for over 15,120 hours during the time that we spend in school from the 1st grade through the 12th grade. We learn to write numbers, but we are not taught how to plan and invest money. We learn how to write sentences, but we are not taught how to choose our goals and select what we are passionate about. We are taught how to write a paragraph and select a theme, body, and conclusion for our paragraph; yet we are not taught how to choose our main purpose for life and how to plan to get there, or when we would get there.
If the key to happiness is getting up and doing what you love to do every day, then the goal for education should be to teach the student how to find what they love to do. The Bible tells us to stir the gift. Get excited. Be passionate. Dream big dreams. Ride the magic carpet of visions.
