Ouachita leads 5A teams into playoffs
The Ouachita Lions edged their final District 2-5A victory for the title on Monday night, defeating the Ruston Bearcats, 59-52.
Monday's win gave the Lions a perfect 8-0 record for 2-5A and strong probability of securing the No. 1 seed in the 5A playoff brackets, which will be released later Thursday (today).
The No. 1 Lions, as ranked in the Ken Ramsey power ratings, finally overcame the No. 8 Bearcats, who made a strong comeback in the second half after trailing the Lions up to 10 points before the break.
