Over the past few weeks I have been reminiscing about what my life has become. Even though I am retired, have a great wife and home life, a terrific family, and at peace with my Lord and Savior, I often look back and wonder if I could have done something different and still have the contentment that I feel today.

As a teenager and a young adult I never thought I would be where I am today. I don't really know what my ambitions were at that time but I know what it is now. Happiness along with contentment brings about a peace that I feel everyone should enjoy. It is hard to look around and see many of my friends, especially some of the younger adults in misery because of uncertainties in life.

Family issues, job issues, and many other pressures enter into a person's life if they allow them to. These type issues allow the medical field to prosper and all they tell us is that we are under a lot of stress. As a young child I was taught Psalm 23 and how it begins, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want."
