Charles E. "Jack" Hilburn Charles E. "Jack" Hilburn, 72, of West Monroe, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013. His funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at Jackson Street Church of Christ. Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.
James L. "Jimmy" Jones Jr. Memorial Services for James L. "Jimmy" Jones Jr., were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Monroe's First Presbyterian Church, with Sen. Robert W. Kostelka and Rev. Dr. Allison F. Moody officiating. Mr. Jones donated his body to LSU Medical Science. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his honor to Monroe's First Presbyterian Church's Women of The Church or a charity of ones' choice. Honorary pallbearers were Wade Baggett, Daniel Bratton, David Carlson, Dr. John Cooksey, Scott Greenwood, Harvey Gregg, Ben Harrison, H.E. Hodges, Jim Huggins, Landon Miles, Mitchell Miletello, Tommy Ormand, Curtis Reeves, Frank Spooner, Dr. Dean Stockstill, Sen. Mike Walsworth, Clyde White and Tommy Winkler. Ushers were Morris Funderburg, B. H. Bell, Stanton Huey Jr., and Jim Gregory. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 50 years, Greta Waller Jones; sons, R. Kevin Jones (Judith), Bastrop, R. Eric Jones (Laurie), Melbourne, Fla.; daughter, F. Kay Jones King (Tim), McKinney, Texas; and daughter-in-law Eva Jones, Bastrop. Grandchildren: Jay M. Jason Jones (Elaine), Katy, Texas, Amy L. E. Jones, Springfield, Mass., Ashlee H. King, McKinney, Texas, Amanda Jones Elias (Jason), Calhoun, Clinton James Jones and Shelby Elizabeth Jones, Melbourne, Fla. Great grandchildren: Liam, Jack, Matilda, Matthew James, Max Jones and Kate Elias (due in Feb.). Sisters-in-Law: Gerry N. Peddy (Wayne), Mrs. W. T. Jones. Brothers-in-law: H. E. 'Gene' Hodges and Rusty Norman (Robin). Nieces and nephews: Cynthia Statham (C.W.), Patricia Lyman, Kerry Darnell (Stan), Jill Karr, Jan Pitzer (Darryl); Duke Hart, Jr. (Shirley), W. 'Bill' Jones (Kathy), Jerry Ferguson (Janice), Ben Ferguson (Ginger), Bob Ferguson (Libby), Lee Hodges (Donna) and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved first wife, Dorothy Hodges Jones; his eldest son, James H. (Bud) Jones; parents, James L. and Florence H. Jones; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Hart and Lucy Ferguson; and brother W. T. (Billy) Jones II; as well as many other family members and special friends. A native of Cleveland, Miss., Jimmy was an honor graduate of Neville High School's Class of 1936, a Bish Mathis Institute graduate, and a ULM alumna. He retired in July 1985 after 43 years of loyal service to CSC/IMC Corp., Sterlington. At retirement, he was a Divisional Director of Administration and Controller. Jimmy became a faithful member of Monroe's First Presbyterian Church in 1941 where he served as Ruling Elder, Deacon, President of Stubbs-Millsaps Sunday School Class, adult and preschool Sunday school teacher and served on many committees. He was a charter member, past president and show chairman of the NE La. Camellia Society. He was also a member of Boy Scout's Order of the Arrow and First Presbyterian Church's Scout troop leader. He was instrumental in the building of the church's Scout Hut. Jimmy was a 50-plus year member of Western Star Masonic Lodge #24. He was a World War II veteran where he served in the US Army Medical Corps. He was a 20-plus year member of American Legion Post 13. Mr. Jones held membership in the La. Chemical Assoc. and in 2008, Gov. Bobby Jindal appointed him to Louisiana's Advisory Council on Veterans Affairs. His political activities included, but were not limited to, being a delegate to several La. Rep. Conventions, a Sergeant-at-Arms for Security at the 1984 Republican National Convention. He was a staunch supporter of the La. Federation of Republican Women and Ouachita Parish Women's Republican Club. Jimmy was known as a loyal, faithful friend, loving husband, caring father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. Family was most important to him. Children sensed his special love for them. He enjoyed many hobbies and interests including music, the English language, gardening, golf, woodworking, travel-trailering, cooking and fishing. His favorite hymn was "Amazing Grace" and his favorite authors were Tennyson and Kipling. Jimmy was a friend to many, always willing to give encouragement and aid to all. He sought to see the good in all and expected others to do the same.

Billy E. Nutt Billy E. Nutt, 78, of Sterlington died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Bearden, Ark.
