Parish drainage canal projects gain steam by Michael DeVault - posted Thursday, January 10th, 2013 @ 12:00 pm  E-mail Story |  Print Story  A long-planned series of improvements to several drainage canals throughout Ouachita Parish took a step forward Monday night when the Ouachita Parish Police Jury accepted a bid to begin construction. The work approved Monday during the first regular Police Jury meeting of 2013 will be performed on the H-1 Canal, which runs through northeastern Ouachita Parish and drains areas around Love Estates, Presidential Estates and Stubbs Vinson Road.
