Board names Hanson chancellor at LDCC

One of the state's fastest growing higher education institutions has a new leader.
Last week, the Louisiana Community and Technical College System Board of Supervisors tapped Dr. Barbara M. Hanson to serve as the next chancellor of Louisiana Delta Community College.

"During her career, Dr. Hanson has demonstrated that she has the resolve and commitment it will take to lead LDCC through this transition," said LCTCS President Joe May. "Dr. Hanson has the right combination of expertise, passion and enthusiasm to lead LDCC and I look forward to working with her."

Hanson currently is vice president for Learning at San Jacinto College-Central Campus in Pasadena, Texas. She will take the helm at Delta Jan. 28.

Hanson brings more than 25 years of experience to Delta. She holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University, an M.A. in English as a second language from the University of Arizona, an M.A. in German and German Literature from University of Arizona, and a B.A. in German and Music from the University of Arizona.
