Monroe council incorporates CenturyLink property

Officials at CenturyLink Inc. hope to make an announcement soon about ground-breaking ceremonies for the expansion of the company's corporate headquarters in Monroe.

That news comes on the heels of a Monroe City Council meeting last week where councilmen voted to bring a 40-acre tract of land into the Monroe city limits. The 40 acres the City Council agreed to incorporate is owned by CenturyLink . It's adjacent to the company's headquarters off U.S. 165.

The expansion of CenturyLink's corporate presence in Ouachita Parish was announced months ago.
