Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Marc Mashaw said deputies made only four DWI arrests from Dec. 16, 2012, to Jan. 2, 2013. That is a much lower figure than normal for the holiday season, when DWI arrests routinely number in the double-digits. "People are apparently getting the message and being responsible," Mashaw said. Mashaw also credited a region-wide Safety Cab service, which offered revelers the ability to party safely during the holidays. .....
