New councilmen to take seats

The face of the Monroe City Council changes tonight (Thursday) when three new faces take their seats on the council.

Incoming District 1 City Councilman Ray Armstrong said he was unaware of anything "terribly exciting" that was going to take place at Thursday's meeting, which was rescheduled due to the Christmas Holiday.

A light agenda, though, was not necessarily a bad thing, according to Armstrong.
"I think we just need to begin the new year, to develop a consensus with all involved and let the people know who we each are," Armstrong said.
