Calhoun pressed the Police Jury Monday to pledge some $100,000 in its 2013 budget to fund conversion of dirt and gravel roads to paved surfaces. Calhoun acted on the matter during a Police Jury Finance Committee meeting. "Next year, I'll be asking for more," Calhoun said. Calhoun pointed out that, in previous years, the Police Jury spent upwards of $200,000 a year to convert gravel and dirt roads to paved surfaces. .....
