Dirt roads irk Calhoun Some rural residents in Ouachita Parish could begin to see work on gravel roads next year thanks to the efforts of Police Juror Mack Calhoun.
Calhoun pressed the Police Jury Monday to pledge some $100,000 in its 2013 budget to fund conversion of dirt and gravel roads to paved surfaces.
Calhoun acted on the matter during a Police Jury Finance Committee meeting. "Next year, I'll be asking for more," Calhoun said.
