City Council runoff Saturday posted Thursday, December 6th, 2012 @ 12:00 pm  E-mail Story |  Print Story  The runoff election for Monroe City Council District 3 will be held Saturday and early voting totals indicate a potentially low turnout. Just 298 people had cast early votes for the Dec. 8 runoff. Only the City Council District 3 race in Monroe is on the ballot. All told, some 7,109 voters are eligible to cast ballots Saturday. Polls will open at 6 a.m and close at 8 p.m. in the runoff election. In the Nov. 6 primary for the District 3 seat, Betty Blakes and Juanita Woods advanced to the runoff after no candidate secured a majority of votes cast. Blakes and Woods are Democrats. .....
