Monroe Renaissance is holding its first "Up on the Rooftop" fundraiser from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. The event promises to provide the best seats in the house for the Christmas fireworks the group is sponsoring on the Ouachita River that night. Monroe Renaissance is a non-profit organization formed to help grow and revitalize the city's downtown area. Renaissance treasurer Kevin Caston said proceeds from Saturday's party will support efforts to help downtown flourish. Previous projects have included financial assistance for the Louisville Beautification Project, the Downtown RiverMarket, and new planters at the end of Art Alley. .....
