Airline up next for Rebels by Zach Parker - posted Wednesday, November 21st, 2012 @ 1:27 pm  E-mail Story |  Print Story  No. 3 West Monroe Rebels step into the third round of Class 5A playoffs on Friday night when they meet the visiting No. 6 Airline Vikings from Bossier City. Defending 5A state champion Rebels (10-2) overwhelmed the Acadiana Rams last week in a 24-0 shutout in regional playoffs, putting them two rounds away from battling for the state championship at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome again. Airline (11-2) visits Rebel Stadium after edging a 10-7 victory over Jesuit last week, gaining them a quarterfinals berth they couldn't secure last season. In the 2011, Airline entered 5A playoffs and finished off Covington in the first round but couldn't surpass Byrd in the second round, losing 35-24. .....
