Calhoun man charged with murder

A 34 year-old West Monroe man is dead following a dispute over his ex-girlfriend.
Authorities say 28 year-old Sean Michael Vines, of Calhoun, shot and killed Corey Hunter Todd during an altercation at Vines's residence on Old Arkansas Road in Calhoun.

Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Old Arkansas Road in the early morning hours Sunday, Nov. 11.

Deputies arrived on the scene to find Todd had been shot multiple times. Deputies administered CPR until emergency personnel arrived. Attempts to resuscitate Todd were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead.

Witnesses at the scene advised that Vines was dating Todd's ex-girlfriend and that the two men had previously engaged in verbal disputes. However, according to witnesses, the altercations had never turned physical.
