Recycling open to area residents

America Recycles Day will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the City of Monroe Public Safety Center, 1810 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

The event is open to all residents of Ouachita and surrounding parishes.

Materials being accepted for recycling: automobile batteries and electronic wastes (computers, monitors, assorted computer accessories, printers, scanners, fax machines, speakers, VCRs, DVD players, stereo equipment, TVs, game consoles, digital cameras, any audio or video equipment, radios, calculators, cellular phones, and accessories), office paper, magazines, card board, Plastics Number 1 and 2 (soda bottles, water bottles, milk jugs), and white goods/scrap metal (old appliances, refrigerators, stoves, and hot water heaters).
