Area celebrates with parade posted Thursday, November 8th, 2012 @ 12:00 pm  E-mail Story |  Print Story  The City of Monroe and the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum will hold a series of events this weekend to commemorate Veterans Day. The events kick off Friday at the Monroe Regional Airport with a parade. The parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. Featured attractions include military vehicles, honored soldiers from each war since World War II, and an appearance by Sec. of State Tom Schedler. Also, area schools will take part in the Veterans Day Parade. Along with Junior ROTC cadets from area high schools, several school marching bands will perform.
